How to Create, Edit, and Manage Categories

Organizing your resources and tools into Categories within StackWrap helps streamline navigation and enhances user experience. There are three main uses for a Category:

  1. Link to a site outside of StackWrap (redirect to a URL)
  2. Create a library to house Items within StackWrap
  3. Ring a phone number (click-to-dial)

Follow these steps to create, edit, and manage categories effectively.

  1. From your homepage, click the Add Category button at the bottom left of the page (right above Settings)

  1. Here you will see several Categories to choose from. If you don't see what you're looking for, you also have the option to Add Custom Category

  1. This will take you into Settings, where you can create your own Category by selecting the blue Add new button

  1. In the dialog box that appears, enter the following details:
    • Category Title: Provide a clear and descriptive title.
    • Description (optional): Add a brief description to inform users about the category's contents.
    • Icon (optional): Upload or select an icon to visually represent the category.
    • Category Functionality
      • Redirect Users to a Third-Party URL
        • You can set a Category to automatically redirect users to an external website when clicked. This is especially useful when centralizing access to platforms outside of StackWrap.
        • To set this up, make sure to select the URL option under Link, and paste in the URL that you'd like to redirect your users to when they click the category.
      • Consolidate Items Under a Single Category
        • Categories can be used to create a library in which you can group multiple Items into a single, logical collection. This makes it easier for users to find related tools in one place without redirecting them outside of StackWrap.
        • To set this up, select the URL radio button, but make sure to leave the URL field empty under Link.
        • Example:

Create a Category called “MLS Access” and add multiple Items inside it — one for each MLS your team has access to (e.g., CRMLS, BrightMLS, FlexMLS, etc.). Instead of scattering these across different parts of your dashboard, they’re now conveniently bundled under one Category.

      • Enable Click-to-Dial Functionality
        • Want your team to reach support staff, office managers, or compliance officers faster? StackWrap lets you link a phone number to a Category or Item, allowing users to initiate a call with just one click.

To set this up, make sure to select the Phone option under Link, and enter the phone number that you'd like to map the functionality to.

          Example:

Create a Category called “Broker Support” and link it to your managing broker’s direct line. On mobile devices, agents can simply tap and dial — no need to copy/paste or look up numbers elsewhere

          Common uses include:

          • Emergency tech support
          • Broker or team leader hotlines
          • In-house transaction coordinators
  • Click Submit to create the Category.

How to Edit an Existing Category:

  • In the categories list, locate the category you wish to modify.
  • Under the Action column, click the pencil icon next to the category name.
  • Update the necessary fields (title,, description, icon, functionality) as needed.
  • Click Submit to apply the changes.

How to Manage Category Order:

  • Click Settings next to the gear icon at the bottom left of your screen.
  • Click on Categories.
  • To reorder categories, toggle Edit Mode on.
  • Drag and drop the Category up or down to reorder its position within your list.
  • Once you've set your desired order, toggle Edit Mode off.

How to Delete a Category

  • Find the category you wish to remove in the categories list.
  • Click the Delete icon (the trash can symbol) next to the category name.
  • Click the red OK button to confirm the deletion when prompted.
    • Note: If there are items contained within the deleted Category, you can either reassign those items to a new Category or you can delete everything.

Tips:

  • Use clear and concise Category names to ensure users can easily find resources.
  • Regularly review and update Categories to reflect any changes in your resource organization.
  • Consider using icons to make Categories more visually identifiable.

By effectively managing Categories, you enhance the usability of StackWrap, making it easier for your team to access and utilize resources efficiently.
