How to Create Items
Before you start, remember this - Categories can either redirect a user to a 3rd-party URL, or can be used to group multiple Items into a single, logical collection. If you'd like to group Items within a Category, make sure that the URL field is left EMPTY when creating the Category.
Once you click into a Category, Click the Add New Item button.
In the form that appears, enter the following details:
- Item Title:
- Provide a clear and descriptive name.
- Item Tag:
- You can create and assign tags to any item (this becomes especially useful when grouping like-for-like Items
- Description (optional):
- Add a brief description to inform users about the Item's purpose.
- Category:
- You usually don't have to edit this. By default, the Item is assigned to the Category that it's being created for. However, you can assign the Item to a different Category if you'd like.
- Icon (optional):
- Upload or select an icon to visually represent the Item.
- Item Type:
- Items can do many different things! Choose the action the Item will perform when clicked:
- Embed: Embedding forms or iFraming websites
- HTML: A text-only item. Perhaps you're giving your agents procedure instructions about something.
- Link:
- URL: Redirects to a specified web address.
- Phone: Initiates a phone call to a specified number.
- SMS: Initiates a text to a specified number.
- Email: Opens the default email client with a pre-filled recipient address.
- Gmail Email: Opens the Gmail email client with a pre-filled recipient address.
- Dial Phone Number: Initiates a phone call to a specified number.
- Open Email Client: Opens the default email client with a pre-filled recipient address.
- Asset: Upload a file type (such as a PDF or PNG). When your user clicks the item, they are able to download the file. This is especially useful if you're consolidating brokerage-specific compliance documents or marketing assets.
- Contact: Create contact cards. Perhaps you're creating contacts for each one of your affiliated lenders or vendors.
- Zoom Embed: Easily embed any recorded Zoom URL. When a user clicks on the item, they can watch the video directly within StackWrap
- Category: Assign the Item to an existing Category for better organization.
- Image:
- You can use a platform such as Canva to create custom image placeholders for your items so that they truly become an extension of your company's branding. Dimensions for image placeholders are 833 x 556 px
- Icon: Select a corresponding icon for your Item
- Pin This Item:
- If the item you're creating is a frequently used tool, select Pin This Item. Doing this will then pin the item to the Pinned Widget on your homepage dashboard. Please make sure the Pinned Widget is visible on the homepage dashboard (to do this, toggle Edit Mode on the homepage dashboard, and select the Pinned Widget. You can then drag, drop, and resize the widget before toggling Edit Mode off).
- Make Support Tab:
- You have the ability to create a button that allows your users easy access to the mapped item by selecting the Make Support Tab option. This button will then always appear on the bottom right of the screen.
- Once selected, you can rename the button to whatever you'd like. For example, perhaps you create an item, and the item type = dialing a phone number to someone on your Support team.
- If this Support Tab button is created, not only will it be visible to all of your users anywhere within StackWrap, but if they click the button, it will do whatever the functionality is of that mapped item. Give this a try and figure out the item that you want to map this functionality to. Personally, I've mapped this button to an embedded form that I'm using for gathering agent feedback. The possibilities are endless!
- Group:
- Set the visibility of the Item based on specific Groups of users that you've created.
- To create users, click on Settings from your Admin control pannel at the bottom left of your screen. Then, go to the Groups tab.
- Create as many Groups of users as you'd like! Groups basically correlate to "who has access to what" within your StackWrap account.
As a reminder - when creating Items or Categories within StackWrap, the system defaults to ALL users have access. If you want to override this, please select to corresponding Group or Groups associated with that Item or Category
- Click Save to create the Item.
