How to Set Up Roles

Roles in StackWrap allow you to define user permissions, ensuring that team members have appropriate access to tools and information based on their responsibilities.

Before you start, remember this:

Admin = the ability to manage all aspects of StackWrap, including adding and deleting tools, managing homepage widgets and 3rd-party integrations, and managing users

Agent = cannot manage StackWrap. Agents can only interact with the tools within StackWrap

1. Access the Roles Management Section

  • Navigate to Settings from your StackWrap dashboard (bottom left of your screen)
  • Click on Roles to view existing roles or create new ones.

2. Create a New Role

  • Click the Add New button.
  • Provide a Role Name (e.g., "Team Leader", "Transaction Coordinator").

3. Define Permissions for the Role

  • Assign specific permissions to the role, such as:
    • Access to certain categories or items.
    • Ability to edit or manage specific tools.
    • Visibility of particular dashboards or reports.
  • Customize permissions to align with the responsibilities associated with the role.

4. Assign Roles to Users

  • Go to the Users section under Settings
  • Select a user and click Edit.
  • In the Role dropdown, choose the appropriate role for the user.
  • Click Save to apply the changes.

5. Edit or Delete Existing Roles

  • In the Roles section, locate the role you wish to modify.
  • Click Edit to update permissions or Delete to remove the role.
  • Note: Deleting a role will unassign it from all users currently associated with it.

Tips:

  • Regularly review roles and permissions to ensure they align with current team structures and responsibilities.
  • Utilize descriptive role names and clear permission settings to maintain clarity and consistency.
  • When onboarding new team members, assign roles promptly to streamline their access to necessary tools and information.

By effectively managing roles in StackWrap, you can maintain organized access control, enhance security, and ensure that team members have the resources they need to perform their duties efficiently.
